In Art Museum on mat: lotus, Matisse watching!

The Cincinnati Art Museum announces Yoga with the Masters

"Right now: doing yoga ten feet from a Picasso. Amazing!" is a message you can now share with friends just like a twittering celebrity if you're lucky enough to live in the Cincinnati area.

In a "why not" move, the Cincinnati Art Museum is relaxing the old rules of museum decorum to let the pursuit of inner peace feed both mind and body with "Yoga with the Masters". For six winter nights in the Art Museum's modern art galleries, participants will leave their stress at the door for a rare, comfortably private after-hours experience.

Position your mat on the gallery floor in view of a favorite Matisse or Derain, and absorb the energy of the art as you perfect your downward dog or learn yoga basics. Katy Knowles, owner of yogahOMe, leads this unique bodies-in-motion class concept among the masterworks, one of the first of its kind in the country.

This is a fun, inspirational way to become more poised, fit and self-aware while also engaging the senses.

Six weeks only, on January 12, 19 and 26, and February 2, 9, 16, from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m.

This course welcomes all fitness and experience levels.
